  17. This is the first version of C-Kermit published under
  18. an Open Source license: the Simplified 3-Clause BSD license
  19. (the previous test version, Alpha.09, had the old "non-free"
  20. license).  Beta.01 has some new features, including a 
  21. strenghened version of the Kermit file transfer protocol
  22. and a new (but backwards-compatible) simplified way of
  23. using variables in scripts.  It's been built and somewhat
  24. tested on more than 50 different platforms.  You can read
